Bernadette Mulholland

Solicitor / Principal

Bernadette Mulholland qualified as a solicitor in 1981 and worked in firms in Belfast and Lurgan before setting up her own practice in Magherafelt in 1990.

Over the years Bernadette has acquired a wide range of experience in many areas of law with particular emphasis on conveyancing and property related matters including acting in the sale and purchase of residential and commercial property and agricultural transactions.

Bernadette also deals with the drafting of wills, enduring power of attorney, estate planning and the administration of estates.

In addition to this, Bernadette also specialises in licensing matters acting for registered clubs, restaurateurs and publicans.

Claire Henderson

Legal Executive

Claire is a past pupil of Rainey Endowed Grammar School, Magherafelt. She graduated from Queens University Belfast with a degree in Law and thereafter completed a diploma in Human Resource Management.

In 2011 Claire moved to Australia where she worked as a Conveyancing Clerk and Legal Secretary. Claire moved back to Northern Ireland and joined Bernadette Mullholland’s in July 2017 as a Legal Secretary. Claire takes immense pride in her work and is now employed as Legal Executive primarily dealing with conveyancing matters.

Outside of work, Claire enjoys spending time with her family and meeting up with friends. She is also a keen runner and enjoying trying out different restaurants and visiting new places.

Clare Short

Accounts

Clare attended Liverpool John Moores University, where she obtained a BA (Hons) Degree in Business Administration. Following this, Clare completed her Chartered Accountancy (CIMA) exams to obtain membership of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (ACMA) and the Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA).

Clare has 20 years financial experience gained in an extensive range of industries including financial services, manufacturing, construction and utilities.

In 2017 Clare joined Bernadette Mulholland Solicitors. She is responsible for the day-to-day accounting function and ensures the business complies with its obligations to adhere to the Law Society of Northern Ireland Solicitor Account Regulations.

Outside of the office, Clare enjoys spending time with family and friends, eating out and travelling.

Richella Rooney

Legal Assistant

Richella joined Bernadette Mullholland Solicitors in 2011. She is a friendly, approachable, highly efficient and valued member of our team. Having been employed as a legal secretary for the past 16 years, Richella has experience in dealing with matters in conveyancing, family and litigation departments.  

Outside of work, Richella enjoys playing piano and spending time with family. 

Saoirse O’Neill

Legal Executive

Saoirse is a past pupil of St Mary’s Grammar School in Magherafelt. She initially worked in Bernadette Mulholland Solicitors from 2006 to 2009. After leaving to focus on family life, she returned to the practice in 2021.

While working as Bernadette’s secretary Saoirse gained extensive legal experience. She is now employed as a Legal Executive primarily dealing with family and criminal matters.

Saoirse is currently studying towards a Degree in History and Politics, which she undertakes in her spare time through the Open University.

Molly Quinn

Legal Assistant

Molly is a past pupil of St. Pius X College, Magherafelt. She is currently studying Law at Queens University Belfast and has a passion for human rights and family law.

Molly devotes her time helping the community by volunteering with the NSPCC as a Young Witness Support Worker and working in a local supermarket. Molly joined Bernadette Mulholland Solicitors as a Legal Secretary in 2023 and will be completing her training contract with the firm.  Outside of work Molly enjoys attending the gym, reading, and travelling.
